Drawing & Art Opportunities

  Dear Artists & Friends,

Apologies to those of you who uploaded drawings and they vanished in cyber space due to server errors. If you do not see your artwork appear, do please email me.

Also when uploading your drawings please write a short description about your drawings, visitors just love to know who you are and how you created your artwork. It does not have to be lengthy, just a few lines.

On this site you can load up to 4 images. As an artist, don’t you like to see aesthetic drawings in the best possible way? Do check to see when loading that there is no clutter in the background and the photo was taken in adequate light—and your drawing/s look really good! You can always preview it before hitting "send."

Are you an emerging artist?
If you are just starting out as a beginner who would love to go professional (sit at home and just draw), there are many opportunities to explore:

• Fashion Design
• Web Comics
• 2D Animation
• Quilt Designing
• Floral Designs (textiles)
• Drawing For Kids Coloring-in Books
• Cartooning

The scope is endless and opportunities abound even in this poor downturn economy! What to do? Sign up with Linkedin and check out the opportunities that are offered. Of course, you have to have a portfolio to show how good you are. Discover what niche market you are interested in (you must be passionate about it if you want to make a good living from it).

My other suggestion is to subscribe to this site which is Art Opportunities Monthly, a monthly newsletter of many jobs available currently on the market. The downside with AOM is that it costs $30 year.

Here is information from their Homepage: Art Opportunities Monthly (AOM) is a carefully screened art opportunities list for traditional and contemporary artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, printmaking, book art, computer art, collage, weaving, fiber, textiles, ceramics, papermaking, mixed media, photography, computer art, pastel, performance art, drawing, enameling, wood carving, crafts, jewelry, installation art, new media, public art, gouache, watercolor painting and every other visual medium. It is for those working in any style or geographic location and is available as a PDF by email.

You could also scan Craigslist in your area for drawing opportunities. Good luck and good hunting.

Have a GREAT March and lots of fun drawing!

Best,
Jon

PS: Have fun drawing, I'd love to see your work showcased here. Please do write if you have any comments or questions especially when you upload your drawings, just a few words will do about you and your drawings.

PPS: Please check your email address for typos...too many bounce and your free e-book will be lost in cyberspace!
