More About Marketing Your Art

Dear Artists & Friends,

Some of you, not many, have been uploading photos instead of drawings. This got me thinking that perhaps you feel your photos make great art pieces. Well sometimes they certainly do.

My idea was originally to put this site together for drawings only but perhaps that is a narrow view. I'd like to have your feedback on whether photos should be accepted or not - your opinions matter on this site.

There is nothing "wrong" with a great photograph as it can inspire many artists such as digital images manipulated in Photoshop. If you have good drawings, upload them, if you have digital images, upload those also.

In last months' issue we spoke about the possibility of making a living off your art. Hopefully some of you have given this some thought? If so, I could write a little more on the specifics of generating an income either from Ebay or Etsy or some other platform.

There are many ways to get more exposure and one of the ways is to have a full page on this site with all your best artwork showcased here.

The only stipulation would be for you to write up a short bio about your work - details of size, mediums used, what inspires you - things like that. If you have your own site you can place a link on your page here to give you much more exposure with Google and other search engines.

Happy Drawings,
Jon
