My paintings are inspired by the Ndebele Tribes of which there are two. One near Pretoria in Gauteng and the other in Zimbabwe.

I started painting the Ndebele people some decades ago when I lived in South Africa. The wall paintings are very colorful and somewhat geometric. The basic wall paintings in the 1960's broke away from the traditional style and colors.

The women folk are adept at making their dress and ornaments from brightly colored beads, I have many portraits showing off these wonderful costumes.

I've put this triptych (3 paintings in one) up for sale at a price of $99.00. The size of each one is 12 inches square and they are framed. If you are interested in purchasing please contact me (Josh Du Plessis) through this site's webmaster Jon and he will organize payment through PayPal for me.

Your Style is Very Pleasing
by: Jenny Halse

Thanks for sharing your paintings, I like the style and the almost abstract qualities. I don't know if I'd fork out 99 bucks though, it is a bit out of my price range (just got back from vacation and spent too much.)

I'd be interested in seeing more of your paintings especially if they are impressionistic and going towards abstract forms where one can only just perceive the actual form is part of something real!

There was a painter whose name I can't recall who painted figurative stuff with beautiful colors where the figure is only partially perceived.
