I keep getting asked: "How to go about drawing sad drawings?"
If you are a novice or beginner you must have observed how people's expression are when they are crying, laughing, smiling, being unhappy or a lot of other emotions "angrily shouting" or just looking doleful or expressionless.
Notice the shape of a person's lips when they are smiling or just crying. At the same time, you will see their eyes squeezed up or almost closed with tears dripping from them.
So you will have to observe these expressions correctly especially if you are into comic cartoons or caricatures. This can be a lot of fun as you go through the curve of seeing the exact curve of she shoppers' smile as the tellers' lips look really tired after checking our hundreds of shoppers late in the day.
Also, check out a few superheroes when enormous strength is required to overcome their foe. What shape do you see their mouth and lips when the hero grabs the crook with a loud "AArrrgg" as sweat pours down his forehead"?!
So there is a whole range of expressions which depend on the emotion they are displaying. Is that really sad if you can't draw it?
