Start Your Own Drawing Group
by John McKaskey
The Old Timer Coming again This Year
One of the unusual things about drawing and art is that talent draws people together for a lasting friendship.
Age, talent, education and so forth all become insignificant as art in itself kinda bonds people together.
If there is no group for you to join up in, start one yourself. Start off with one person, you. That's what we did here in Boulder some time ago and it grew to 20 active members in a short space of time. Some things should be noted however:
you have to define the purpose of the group, have a regular meeting schedule which has to be conveniently located. Promote your group on Craig's list and other forms of dissemination on the internet. Initially keep it an open membership until the numbers swell to a manageable size.
It is a lot of fun making new friends with the same interest as you.
