Do You Know Much About The History of Indian Art?

Do you know that from the second to the 16th century, painting throughout India kept pace abreast of "temple sculpture?" Some of these paintings were treated separately from religious artifacts.

In the latter centuries, palaces and homes of the wealthy were adorned with marvelous themes.

The Sanskrit texts the artists used were mainly dark hues to incite rasa or eroticism; an amusing theme would be dominated by light colors and passion with red.

Skin color for the wealthy was mainly white so a certain prejudice became the norm - the hapless and poor as dark skin.
