Sheldon Fine Art Hosting Painting Demonstration

Sheldon Fine Art, located at 460 5th Avenue South, will host a painting demonstration with celebrated Impressionist landscape painter Mary Erickson on Thursday, March 10 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Immediately following the painting demonstration, Erickson and her work will be celebrated at an opening reception for her exhibit “Timeless Florida,” a showcase of her newest classic Florida landscapes. Both events are open to the public, and the evening reception will take place during 5th Avenue South’s monthly Evening on 5th event.

Preferring to work on location, in the tradition of painters since the French Impressionists, Erickson travels extensively. Creating plein air field studies, she then returns to the studio to produce large paintings using the visual knowledge and critical information gathered in the field.

Painting tours have taken her to Spain, Guatemala, Argentina, Ireland, and throughout the United States. Whether exploring landscapes alone or with other professionals or students, Erickson believes these painting trips are essential to an artist's career and growth.
